Get to Know about the creative producer:
“What is worse than enforcing a 16 Y.O girl to get married? It is mostly her life destruction.”
Rawan is a 25 year old ambitious woman, who was forced to quit school in the 10th grade in order to marry her cousin. Rawan is not the first Palestinian woman who had their life interrupted at such a young age. In fact, it occurs more often than not.
Unluckily, Rawan’s husband wasn’t able to handle the expenses of his six members family, which left Rawan forced to work. Rawan overcame the high rate of unemployment in her hometown, and worked in handmade and embroidered craft workshops and factories for the last eight years. Taking into consideration the economic hardships that we go through in the Gaza Strip, Rawan was slowly paid for her hard work. Recently, Rawan joined the Yadaiha team in her hometown, which was a quantum leap for her. Her higher salary has afforded her to pursue a higher education, something she could only dream of beforehand.
Rawan hopes to complete her studies, become an inspiring teacher, and change the all too common rigid traditions that aggrieve women generally.
